Are days in this crowded house where I feel completely alone and I start to remember why I was such a bookworm…it was an escape, an escape from anyone and everything that brought me down, and I got to live and love vicariously through different characters and their lives.

"I am a very “traditional” writer. What I mean by this is that I write by hand with pen and paper, sometimes pencil and paper. I notice that the computer often influences me to self-edit in the midst of writing. I like writing longhand because it forces everything out of me all at once and doesn’t allow me to backtrack. Just keep writing. From mind to fingers to ink to paper. Even some posts here on Tumblr have been “drafted” on paper before transferring to the screen. I used to be extremely obsessed with the pace of my writing as well, so I relegated myself to the computer, but the computer is a distraction. This desire to be fast-fast-fast is a trick of modern culture. Then I realized I wrote my best work when I took my time. Writing by hand is innately intimate and allows me to do that."
